Who We Are
-
We take a deliberate, family-led approach to philanthropy that prioritizes depth over breadth. We aim to build ongoing, lasting relationships with the organizations we support. Building partnerships that strengthen both natural habitats and human communities. Our hands-on, patient methodology ensures our resources create meaningful, lasting change across our core causes.
-
At the heart of The Stillwell Family Foundation are the values of stewardship, compassion, and civic responsibility. We believe true wealth lies in what we give back, to the planet, to our neighbors, and to future generations. Integrity, compassion, and respect for both nature and culture guide us. Above all, we value balance: protecting wildlife, their habitats, and the oceans, while empowering people, strengthening society, funding research and programs for the disabled, and celebrating the arts as foundational to the future of our culture.
-
The Stillwell Family Foundation grew from a shared family commitment that started as personal support for local causes and evolved into a formal foundation that now reflects our collective experiences. Today, the Foundation stands as a living legacy of purposeful generosity shaped by our family’s journey and the varied communities we cherish.
“The state exists for the sake of the good life,
and the good life consists in the exercise of virtue
in the service of the community.”
